Touchless technology

TouchlessThe Touchless technology enables every kind of non-conductive material to become touch-sensitive including: glass, armored glass, plastic, wood, ceramic, marble, textiles, leather, etc.

With the Touchless technology is thus possible to produce touchless keyboard which operate behind non-conductive, thinner or thicker boards (few millimeters to 1-2cm). These are keyboards without mechanical buttons to be pressed, buttons are simply printed or engraved on the touch-sensible surface (the operative life of these keyboards is not dependent on the usage rate).

In transparent or translucent materials it is possible to backlight the buttons, even with different colors, depending on the activation status and function related to each key, achieving pleasant and surprising effects.

  • in public access application, the keyboard (and LCD display) stay behind an armored glass to frustrate vandals' attacks
  • in difficult environments, on in places in which a high level of hygienic safety is mandatory, the keyboard (and LCD display) stays behind a protective glass in order to avoid corrosion and to facilitate clean-up
  • in toilet sanitaries, the keyboard with backlit symbols is located behind a protective plastic or glass shield, safe from water and steam

The keyword is versatility. Open air: designers and architects can integrate the keyboard in products and environments with a wider range of choices amongst materials and shapes. In interiors: the availability of an on-board microcontroller in the keyboard allows for a wide range of interfacing modes, and the possibility to operate autonomously (terminals, electronic key, dimmer).
