
REQUIREMENTS
Studio Techné needed to provide a service to public and private clients in the building digital monitoring domain, that could ensure a flexible system for the control of several physical variables in the field. This system should additionally allow to be used unaffectedly on premium buildings.
SOLUTION
The solution that TERTIUM Technology has worked out is based on a system consisting in a tell tale that is placed on a damaged surface, allowing to detect the temperature parameters and the movements of a crack over time, thanks to MWS Geko sensor tag.
This solution is based on Wireless technology and provides for the use of a data acquisition digital system that makes it possible to monitor the overall crack situation. Data are acquired and transmitted to your PC through USB MWS Cube reader.
The contextual measurement of cracks opening and temperature allows to clear the acquired data of the correlations between the displacements trend and the temperature periodic variations. Therefore, information may be obtained on the elasto-plastic movements of these cracks that will be useful for the local structural diagnosis.
Control can be extended to wide portions of building so as to obtain a complete monitoring of the crack movements, a necessary aspect to diagnose the cause of cracking and the basis for remedial work.
